Account Deletion Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective date: 2026.07.23

This Account Deletion Policy explains how you can ask us to delete your account with [SERVICE NAME] (the "Service"), what happens to your data and your account content when you do, and the limited situations in which we may keep, anonymise, or delay the removal of certain information. It is operated by [OPERATOR NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], company/registration number [COMPANY NUMBER].

The Service is an independent, fan-made VIRTUAL Counter-Strike 2 trading SIMULATOR. It is a game. There is no real money involved, no real Steam items, and no gambling. Every balance, skin, case, trade, reward, and item shown in the Service is purely virtual, exists only inside the Service, has NO real-world monetary value, cannot be cashed out, and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for real money or real Steam items. The Service is NOT a real skin-trading site and NOT a gambling service.

The Service is NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Valve Corporation or Steam. Counter-Strike, CS2, Steam, and all related names, marks, and logos are the property of their respective owners and are referenced for descriptive, non-commercial purposes only.

This document is a template and does not constitute legal advice. Sections marked with [PLACEHOLDER] values must be completed and reviewed by a qualified legal professional before publication.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Policy covers the deletion of an account you created directly with the Service and the personal data and virtual content associated with that account.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Where this Policy and the Privacy Policy describe the same right (for example, the right to erasure), the Privacy Policy governs the legal basis and your statutory rights, and this Policy describes how deletion is carried out in practice.

  • It applies to registered players of the Service who wish to remove their account.
  • It does not create any right to the return of, or compensation for, virtual items, virtual balances, or in-game progress, because those have no real-world value.
  • It does not apply to third-party services or platforms that are outside our control.

2. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account at any time and for any reason. We aim to make the process straightforward and to confirm your identity before acting, so that no one can delete your account without authorisation.

a) Self-service deletion

Where the Service offers an in-app deletion option, you can start the process from your account settings. You may be asked to re-enter your password or otherwise confirm your identity, and to confirm that you understand the consequences described in this Policy.

b) Deletion by request

If a self-service option is not available or does not work for you, you can request deletion by contacting us at [CONTACT EMAIL] from the email address associated with your account, or through any support channel listed in the Service. Please include enough information for us to locate and verify your account.

c) Identity verification

To protect you, we will take reasonable steps to verify that a deletion request genuinely comes from the account holder. We may decline or pause a request if we cannot reasonably verify your identity, or if we suspect the request is fraudulent or made by someone other than the account holder.

3. Confirmation and Cooling-Off Period

Because account deletion is significant and generally irreversible, we may ask you to confirm your request before we act on it, and we may apply a short cooling-off period during which you can cancel the request.

If a cooling-off period applies, it will be [COOLING-OFF PERIOD]. If you take no action to cancel during that period, we will proceed with deletion. If you log in and cancel the request during that period, your account will remain active and unchanged.

4. Processing Time

Once your request is verified and any cooling-off period has passed, we will begin deleting or anonymising your data.

We aim to complete deletion within [PROCESSING TIME] of a verified request. Some data may take longer to remove from backups and logs, as described in the section on backups below, and certain records may be retained where the law or a legitimate security need requires it.

5. What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we will delete or irreversibly de-identify the personal data we hold about you that we are not required to keep. This is intended to include, as applicable to your account:

  • Your account profile, including your display name, username, avatar, and profile customisations.
  • Your login credentials and authentication data, including password hashes and active sessions or refresh tokens.
  • Your contact details held for the account, such as your email address, subject to the retention exceptions below.
  • Your in-game settings, preferences, cosmetic loadout, and showcase configuration.
  • Your friends list, social connections, and pending friend requests tied to your account.
  • Direct messages and chat content you sent, subject to the retention and abuse-handling exceptions below.

6. Virtual Items and In-Game Content Lost on Deletion

Deleting your account permanently ends your access to everything you accumulated inside the Service. Because all of it is virtual and has no real-world value, none of it can be recovered, transferred, sold, or compensated once your account is deleted.

By requesting deletion you acknowledge and accept that the following will be permanently lost:

  • Your virtual balance and any lifetime totals or realized profit figures.
  • Your virtual inventory, including all virtual skins, cases, capsules, stickers, and other virtual items.
  • Your virtual lifestyle collectibles, cosmetics, badges, titles, and profile frames.
  • Your account level, XP, season score, season-pass progress, missions, achievements, and leaderboard standings.
  • Any pending trades, listings, deposits, or entries in in-game features such as the marketplace, jackpot, or case battles.
  • Any company or team membership associated with your account.

7. What Data Is Anonymised Rather Than Deleted

Some records cannot simply be deleted without breaking shared game history or aggregate integrity. Where that is the case, we anonymise your data instead: we sever the link between the record and you as an identifiable person, typically by removing or replacing identifiers so the remaining record can no longer reasonably be traced back to you.

Data we may anonymise rather than delete includes, for example:

  • Marketplace and trade history where another player was the counterparty, so their record of a completed transaction remains coherent.
  • Shared game outcomes such as jackpot rounds, case battles, and leaderboard or season results that involved other participants.
  • Chat or interaction records that another user is entitled to keep as part of their own conversation history.
  • Aggregate, statistical, and analytics data that no longer identifies you.
  • Ledger and economy records where a de-identified entry must remain to keep internal balances and audit trails consistent.

8. Data We Must Retain

In limited circumstances we may keep certain information for a defined period after your account is deleted, where we have a legal obligation or a legitimate and overriding interest to do so. Where we retain such data, we limit it to what is necessary and stop using it for any other purpose.

We may retain data of this kind for up to [DATA RETENTION PERIOD], or for such longer period as the law requires. Reasons for retention include:

  • Complying with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting obligations that apply to us.
  • Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims, and responding to lawful requests from courts or authorities.
  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, cheating, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Enforcing bans or other sanctions so that a deleted account cannot be used to evade them.
  • Keeping minimal security and audit logs needed to protect the Service and other users.

9. Active Disputes, Investigations, and Abuse Cases

If your account is subject to an open dispute, security investigation, abuse or cheating case, chargeback-style complaint, or any other unresolved matter at the time you request deletion, we may need to pause or partially delay deletion until that matter is resolved.

In such cases we will limit retention to the data reasonably necessary to handle the matter, and we will complete the remaining deletion once it is closed.

Where an account is banned or under sanction for serious abuse, we may retain a minimal record needed to enforce the ban and to prevent the same person from returning to evade it. This record is kept for security and enforcement purposes only.

10. Backups and Residual Copies

For a period after deletion, copies of your data may remain in encrypted backups, disaster-recovery snapshots, or transient logs. We do not use these copies for ordinary operations, and they are overwritten or purged on our normal backup rotation cycle.

Residual copies in backups are typically removed within [BACKUP RETENTION PERIOD]. If we need to restore a backup for legitimate operational reasons during that window, we take reasonable steps to re-apply deletions afterwards.

11. Restoring a Deleted Account

Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Once deletion has completed, we generally cannot restore your account, your data, your progress, or any virtual items, because the underlying records have been removed or anonymised.

a) During the cooling-off period

If a cooling-off period applies and has not yet expired, you can usually cancel your deletion request and keep your account by following the instructions provided when you made the request, or by contacting us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

b) After deletion completes

After the process completes, restoration is not guaranteed and in most cases is not possible. Where any short grace window exists in which limited restoration might be attempted, it is [RESTORATION GRACE PERIOD]; outside that window we treat the deletion as final.

c) Creating a new account

You are welcome to register a new account after deletion, subject to our Terms of Service. A new account starts fresh: it does not inherit any previous balance, virtual items, progress, or history, and none of that content can be recovered from a deleted account.

12. Effect of Deletion on Other Users

Deleting your account does not delete content that legitimately belongs to another user's experience. For example, messages you sent to another player may remain in that player's conversation view, and shared game results may continue to show an anonymised participant.

We take reasonable steps to remove or anonymise identifiers so that such residual content no longer points to you as an identifiable person.

13. Accounts We Delete or Suspend

We may also delete, suspend, or anonymise accounts on our own initiative, for example where an account is inactive for an extended period, was created in breach of our Terms, or is used for fraud, cheating, or abuse. Where we do so, the same principles in this Policy apply to what is deleted, anonymised, or retained.

Where required and where we hold valid contact details, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you before deleting an account for inactivity.

14. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to request erasure, to access your data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. This Policy describes how we handle deletion in practice, but it does not limit those statutory rights.

To exercise your rights, or if you have questions about how your data is handled, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] or our Data Protection Officer at [DPO CONTACT]. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority, [SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY].

15. Governing Law

This Policy and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it are governed by [GOVERNING LAW], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection rights available to you in your place of residence.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the version and effective date shown above and, where appropriate, notify registered users.

The version of this Policy in force at the time we process your deletion request applies to that request.
